Se trata de una figura, chartista poco habitual, de cambio de tendencia, que se

produce casi exclusivamente en las tendencias alcistas, con implicaciones

Es una

figura poco fiable con volúmenes muy irregulares en su formación. En realidad

se forma como la suma un triángulo invertido seguido de un triángulo simétrico,

que debe llevar a un cambio de tendencia de la curva de cotizaciones. La poca

fiabilidad de la figura, característica común a las figuras triangulares,

aconseja seguirla muy de cerca, pues aunque se considera una figura de cambio

de tendencia a corto plazo en movimientos secundarios o terciarios, se debe

esperar a que la curva de cotizaciones deje el diamante para actuar, vendiendo rápidamente

si pierde la línea de soporte pues suele caer muy rápidamente la cotización, o

comprando si rompe la línea de resistencia, en cuyo caso la subida es mas

moderada e irregular. Como en todas las figuras chartistas el volumen de

negocio en el momento de la rotura de la figura, es fundamental para determinar

la fiabilidad de la misma.
